Kathleen Fugle is an active board member of our CSTA NoVA chapter. She works as a School-Based Technology Specialist at an elementary school in Fairfax County Public Schools.
A School-Based Technology Specialist is the equivalent to an ITC or ITRT in other school divisions. Her primary responsibility is to support teachers in the integration of technology into instruction.
Kathleen shares a favorite resource: the CSinSF curriculum site from the San Francisco Unified School District: https://www.csinsf.org/curriculum.html
The K-2 and 3-5 computer science lessons are a treasure trove for any elementary educators interested in integrating CS.
Kathleen is passionate about the intersection of CS, global collaboration, and digital citizenship. These aspects of technology integration come together in her initiative ScratchPals, which aims to create global classrooms by connecting teachers and students via Scratch computer programming. bit.ly/ScratchPals.
